Privacy Policy

1. The short version

• You can use the service without an account; guest conversations are not tied to your identity and are not retained after your session.
• If you create an account, we store your email address and, so you can access them later, your saved conversations.
• Your messages are processed by third-party AI model providers to generate responses.
• We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use your conversations to build advertising profiles.
• You can request access to, or deletion of, your data at any time.

2. Data we collect

Guest use. You can chat and use every tool without registering. Guest conversations are held only for the duration of your browsing session so the AI can maintain context, and are not linked to your name or email. We process technical data inherent to any web request — IP address, browser type, approximate region — for security, abuse prevention, and service operation.

Account holders. If you create an account, we collect your email address (for login and essential service communication) and store the conversations you choose to keep, so your history is available across devices. You can delete individual conversations or your entire account at any time.

Premium subscribers. Payments are processed by our payment provider, Lemon Squeezy. We never see or store your full card details; we receive only the information needed to manage your subscription (such as its status and renewal date).

Analytics. We use privacy-conscious, aggregated analytics to understand how the service is used — which pages are visited and which tools are popular — so we can improve it. This data does not identify you personally.

3. How your messages are processed by AI

To generate responses, the content you submit (messages and uploaded files) is transmitted to the third-party AI model providers whose large language models power the service. These providers process the content to produce a response, under contractual terms that restrict use of the data to providing the service. We select providers with strong data-protection commitments; API-submitted content is not used by our providers to train their models under the terms we operate on.

Practical advice that no policy replaces: avoid submitting sensitive personal information — yours or anyone else's — to any AI service unless it is necessary for your task.

4. Cookies

We use a small number of cookies and similar technologies: essential cookies that keep the service working (session state, security, keeping you signed in if you have an account) and analytics as described above. We do not use third-party advertising cookies. You can control cookies through your browser settings; blocking essential cookies may prevent parts of the service from working.

5. Retention

Guest conversations: not retained after your session ends. Account data and saved conversations: retained until you delete them or your account. Technical and security logs: retained for a short, limited period consistent with security and abuse-prevention needs, then deleted or anonymized. Aggregated analytics contain no personal identifiers and may be kept longer.

6. Your rights

Wherever you are, you can ask us to tell you what personal data we hold about you, correct it, export it, or delete it. If you are in a jurisdiction with specific data-protection legislation (such as the GDPR in the European Union or similar laws elsewhere), you also have the rights those laws grant, including objecting to certain processing and lodging a complaint with your local supervisory authority.

To exercise any right, email privacy@free-ai-chat.com from the address associated with your account (or describe your guest usage). We respond to all requests, typically within 30 days. Account holders can also delete conversations and their account directly from within the service.

7. Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit, access controls, and reputable infrastructure providers. No online service can guarantee absolute security, but we minimize risk by collecting little and keeping less.

8. Children

The service is not directed at children under 13 (or the higher minimum age in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. If you believe a child has provided us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the service or the law evolves. The "Last updated" date at the top always reflects the current version, and material changes will be signposted within the service. Continued use after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
